Duties and Responsibilities:
Work Habits – 30%
• Lead the planning, promotion, and execution of small-scale, high-impact campus engagement programs across SoLAcc locations.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the student conduct process, including intake, adjudication, and implementation of sanctions in student conduct cases at the direction of the Associate Director for Judicial Services and Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
• Participate in conduct hearings, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely communication with involved parties.
• Educate students on the Code of Student Conduct and due process rights; promote restorative, educational outcomes whenever appropriate.
• Serve as a case manager for students involved in conduct or Title IX proceedings, ensuring they are informed of their rights and support options.
• Develop and deliver educational programming on student conduct, Title IX, consent, bystander intervention, and healthy relationships.
• Provide information to students and employees about their rights under Title IX and available institutional and community resources.
• Assist in preparing data and reports for internal leadership and external agencies (e.g., annual Clery reports, OCR data requests).
• Help ensure compliance with Clery Act and VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) as they relate to Title IX mandates.
• Support the review and revision of institutional Title IX-related policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with federal and state laws.
Behavioral Standards – 30%
• Support the investigation process by scheduling interviews, collecting and organizing evidence, and preparing summaries or documentation as needed.
• Coordinate and facilitate educational programs, workshops, and trainings for students, faculty, and staff on Title IX rights and responsibilities, consent, reporting procedures, and bystander intervention.
• Review incident reports, assess allegations, and confer with the Associate Director for Judicial Services and Deputy Title IX Coordinator to determine appropriate resolution pathways, including informal and formal processes.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all Title IX-related matters and ensure timely, organized communication with involved parties.
• Conduct prompt, impartial, and thorough investigations of Title IX complaints and other related civil rights matters.
• Collect and review relevant evidence, interview parties and witnesses, maintain detailed
documentation, and prepare comprehensive investigative reports.
• Collaborate with the Associate Director for Judicial Services and Deputy Title IX Coordinator, Title IX Coordinator, Legal Affairs, and other relevant departments to ensure compliance with Title IX regulations and institutional procedures.
• Stay current on federal and state laws, guidance, and best practices related to Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act, and related compliance areas.
• Track, monitor, and follow up on conduct cases and Title IX resolutions to ensure compliance with outcomes and safety measures.
• Maintain detailed and confidential case files in compliance with FERPA and institutional policy.
• Utilize student conduct or case management software systems to document and track cases.
• Prepare regular reports on student conduct trends, Title IX case outcomes, and compliance
benchmarks for institutional leadership.
• Support data collection, filing systems, and record retention in accordance with institutional and legal standards.
Institutional Support – 20%
• Collaborate with counseling services, accommodations, campus security, and faculty to provide wraparound support for involved students.
• Attend meetings as necessary with campus-based offices to provide education and information on the Student Code of Conduct or on Title IX policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with campus departments, student organizations, and community partners to promote a comprehensive approach to accountability, reporting, and restorative justice.
• Partner with faculty and staff to enhance the awareness of policy violations and processes.
• Collaborate with institutional leadership to develop and implement strategic plans that enhance student engagement and foster a vibrant campus community.
• Align awareness initiatives with the institution's mission, goals, and objectives.
• Support campus-wide prevention initiatives and collaborate with student affairs, athletics, academic affairs, and student organizations.
• Provide training for faculty and staff on student conduct reporting, classroom behavior management, and Title IX obligations.
Team Relations – 20%
• Contribute to the development and review of policies related to student engagement and
involvement, ensuring they promote a safe and inclusive environment.
• Work closely with other departments (e.g., academic affairs, student affairs, counseling services) to create integrated support systems for student rights and responsibilities.
• Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff and student leaders on best practices in student rights and responsibilities.
• Represent the office and institution at events, meetings, and professional conferences related to judicial services and Title IX. .
• Work closely with the Associate Director for Judicial Services and Deputy Title IX Coordinator, Title IX Coordinator, Student Services, Human Resources, Campus Safety, and other offices to ensure a coordinated institutional response.
• Represent the Title IX Office in campus meetings, prevention task forces, or student safety committees as assigned.
Required Education:
Associate’s degree required.
Required Experience:
3 years’ experience in higher education, behavioral or mental health, social services, student affairs, or related field.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must be able to demonstrate the proven abilities of intellectual reasoning, power of persuasion, and consistent dedication to the position.
Mathematical Skills: Basic Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: High Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Ability to learn to operate College-specific software and applications.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Criminal Background Clearance. Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Education:
Master’s degree, doctoral degree, or Juris doctorate preferred
5 years’ experience developing and delivering training programs on counseling, Title IX and related projects
5 years’ experience in planning events, handling sensitive and potentially crisis situations
