Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain performance standards and pursue goals, objectives, and activities that promote the mission, vision and value statement of the College.
• Provides presentations on enrollment, financial aid, and advising to student groups, parents, other college staff, and external groups such as high schools, community based organizations, and others requesting presentations.
• Serves as a recruiter for the college, attending college fairs, career days, FAFSA completion events, and other events in high schools and in the community to support the strategies developed by the Assistant Director of Enrollment, Admissions, and Financial Aid.
• Conducts campus tours for prospective students or community members.
• Assists prospective students with information or completion of the college admissions application.
• Assists with meeting program and course enrollment goals.
• Assists prospective or current students with information or completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
• Assists prospective or current students with information regarding their academic program, including advising on classes to take towards completion of their program.
• Collects student data related to inquiries and applicants in the appropriate systems.
• Proactively works with an assigned caseload of prospects, applicants, and/or students to move them through the student enrollment process and secure funding.
• Assists with program exploration with prospective and current students.
• Serves as the point of contact for all inquiries regarding admission, financial aid, advising and registration for a case load of students in a certain program/division.
• Assists with the college’s first year experience and freshman orientation.
• Co-management of the admissions, financial aid, advising, and Signal Vine inboxes in conjunction with other Enrollment Specialists.
• Management of special projects as assigned by supervisor.
• Responds to all emails and voicemails within 24 hours with the highest level of customer service.
• Works with the Vice Chancellor of Enrollment and Student Development, Assistant Directors of Enrollment, and Registrar, to ensure that admissions, financial aid, and registration operations are conducted in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
• Assists with other projects as needed and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Foster, demonstrate, and actively participate in a culture of mutual respect for students, guests, and co-workers from all backgrounds, perspectives and abilities. Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and supervisors and utilize appropriate channels of communication within the college community concerning procedures and/or inquiries.
• Attend and participate in scheduled activities, which include graduation, open house/recruiting events as assigned, convocation, and required meetings. Share ideas and information, and work toward common department and College goals.
• Serve on college committees as a member or as chair. Serve on search committees.
• Participate in professional development activities that enhance effectiveness (convocation, LCTCS conference, etc.).
• Represent the college in a manner that promotes a professional and positive image.
• Adhere to College and LCTCS policies.
• Embrace college culture.
• Complete all required assignments prior to deadlines (Fletcher/LCTCS trainings, etc.).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree. An Associate’s degree with five years of customer service experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
Required Experience: Microsoft Office
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and counseling skills; detail oriented; ability to organize and manage multiple projects while working in a fast-faced office environment; websites, etc.; positive attitude, patience, high energy, enthusiasm for helping others, and team player; limited travel may be required as well as working some evenings and weekends.
Preferred Experience: Working knowledge of Banner.
