Duties and Responsibilities:
Work Habits - 30%
• Install, configure, and manage AV equipment, including displays, switchers, speakers, microphones, DSPs, and control panels.
• Perform upgrades on AV equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting and manage all AV problems or concerns.
• Manage AV projects and oversee contractors, ensuring installations meet departmental standards, are completed on schedule, and align with long-term technology goals.
• Develop documentation for AV technology, including programming and logical diagrams of physical configurations.
• Travel to various site locations as required.
• Conduct regular system health checks and preventative maintenance on AV systems.
• Maintain accurate inventory of AV equipment and recommend lifecycle replacements.
• Assist in ensuring AV systems align with institutional security standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Behavioral Standards - 20%
• Serve as the lead point of contact for AV -related work requests, assessing needs and defining programming requirements.
• Responsible for AV needs of all college events, ensuring optimal operation and real-time support/troubleshooting.
• Establish standardized AV deployment procedures across college locations.
• Conduct post-event reviews and apply lessons learned to future setups.
Institutional Support - 35%
• Design, implement, and manage advanced AV solutions for classrooms, conference rooms, and auditoriums across all campus locations.
• Provide recommendations for improvement to existing configurations.
• Applies system analysis techniques and procedures with AV systems, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications.
• Designs, develops, documents, and modifies computer and AV systems or programs, based on and related to user or system design specifications.
• Designs, documents, tests, and modifies computer programs related to machine operating systems.
• Perform advanced programming on AV equipment for room controls and optimal functionality.
• Responsible for the full lifecycle of AV programming used across the college, including the ability to manage inventory of all classroom technology and coordinate replacement/repair.
• Stay current with AV technology trends and make strategic recommendations for adoption.
• Collaborate with IT security and infrastructure teams to ensure AV systems meet network and cybersecurity requirements.
Team Relations - 15%
• Meet with internal and external customers prior to events. Provide needs assessment, walkthroughs, and technical guidance.
• Manage AV technology user training, including live and online training sessions, and develop written guides.
• Provide onboarding and mentorship to IT team members supporting AV -related functions.
• Coordinate AV training sessions for faculty and staff at the beginning of each semester.
Required Education:
An Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field, along with two (2) years of experience, OR equivalent professional experience.
Required Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in Information Technology.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Valid, unencumbered driver's license
