Salary Range: 16S Entry Level Pay $69,397.90 to Pay Range Maximum $102,281.40

Starting Pay: $69,397.90

Salary Notes: This position is designated as a Union position. All new hires must start at the entry level rate for this role per the collective bargaining agreement/MOA with OPEIU, Local 6. Pay may advance within the salary band according to the CBA/MOU.

Departmental Mission Statement: The core mission of the Office of Jury Commissioner (OJC) is to provide randomly-selected pools of eligible jurors, representative of the community from which they are drawn, to each of the jury courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, in accordance with the needs of those courts and the direction of the Trial Court. The OJC is committed to educating the public on the value and responsibility of serving as a juror, and to providing courteous, professional service to the public and the courts.

Position Summary: Supervises staff in assigned office and performs administrative work to support office operations. Provides administrative support and assistance to those within the department and/or the general public. Leads the unit's day-to-day operations. Takes a leading role in the development of new programs and projects within the department. Enters, maintains, and manages data, documents, and records. May be responsible for elements of the hiring and training processes, as well as the performance of some human resources tasks.

Supervision Received: Works under the direction of a Department Head

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provides project management and oversees special initiatives within the division. Supports a variety of hiring activities conducted by the Human Resources Department.
• Participates in all activities related to development, implementation, and subsequent monitoring of operations and projects.
• Performs administrative tasks as assigned, including document editing, taking meeting minutes, answering telephones, preparing reports, etc.
• Prepares complex and detailed documents. Maintains department records and drafts routine correspondence.
• Analyzes statistics and develops new databases to assist in administration of programs. Prepares reports on various administrative activities.
• Acts as a liaison and provides technical advice to other offices, departments, the public, and outside agencies.
• Participates in the development of operating policies, procedures, and forms.
• Provides assistance in the hiring, onboarding, and training process of lower level employees.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements: Education and Experience
• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Four (4) years of related work experience
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for meeting minimum qualifications.

Working Conditions: Work is frequently performed in office or similar indoor environments.

Physical Demands: This position requires sedentary work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
