Job Title: Div. of Natural Sciences Procurement Assistant (Part-time/Temporary)

Reporting Relationship: DNS Procurement Specialist

Unit: IWU-Marion

Department: Division of Natural Sciences-IWU Marion

Campus Location: Ott Hall of Sciences & Nursing

Summary of Position:    The Procurement Office in the Division of Natural Sciences employs temporary workers to support the scientific materials management roles of the Procurement Specialist. Employees gain business experience in procurement, purchasing, and accounts payable pertaining to requests for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Engineering courses, labs, and research. The majority of the position involves computer work in MS Excel, Outlook, and PhantomPDF (training is provided). Tasks are varied but predominately involve verifying and entering data related to purchasing for the Division of Natural Sciences. Attention to detail and accuracy are critical.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Scan and save documentation to orders for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Engineering 
  • Receive and deliver packages to appropriate labs for DNS 
  • Update spreadsheets that track purchases 
  • Contact professors/requesters with order status updates 

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • High school diploma or working towards one. Excelling in science and math classes is preferred

Experience

  • Prior work experience is preferred

Required Skills

  • Beginner level of MS Excel and Outlook is required, with intermediate level preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge is needed
  • PhantomPDF knowledge is a plus, but training is provided
