Summary of Position:    The Director of Regional Management plays a transformational role in elevating the Education Centers of Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) into premier educational and conferencing destinations. As we undergo a significant technological modernization and space renovation at our Indianapolis North location, this leader will drive the evolution of our facilities while maintaining excellence in our core educational mission. These centers, strategically located throughout Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky within IWU's National & Global unit, serve as vital community hubs where education meets innovation.

This position presents an opportunity to shape the future of our facilities, supporting a comprehensive renovation project that will position our centers as sought-after venues for corporate events, community gatherings, and educational programs. The Director will spearhead efforts to maximize revenue through expanded conferencing services while ensuring seamless integration of integrated technology throughout our spaces.

The ideal candidate combines strategic leadership with operational excellence, possessing both the vision to drive business growth and the hands-on skills to ensure flawless execution. This role requires someone who excels at building community partnerships, driving sales initiatives, and creating exceptional user experiences for both educational and conferencing clients.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Business Development
    • Lead the transformation of education centers into technology-enabled, revenue-generating venues
    • Develop and execute strategies to maximize conferencing and event revenue, including building a robust sales pipeline and community partnerships
    • Create and implement outreach strategies to position the centers as premier venues for corporate and community events
    • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders
    • Monitor and analyze market trends, competition, and community needs to inform strategic decisions
    • Set and achieve ambitious revenue targets for conferencing and event services 
  • Operational Excellence & Technology Leadership
    • Support the implementation and management of new technology systems throughout the facilities
    • Lead and mentor staff in the effective use of new technology systems
    • Create and maintain standard operating procedures for technology usage and support
    • Provide hands-on support for high-profile events and technical troubleshooting as needed
    • Manage building operations, including maintenance, security, and safety protocols
    • Coordinate with IWU Technology Services to ensure optimal system performance 
  • Team Leadership & Cultural Development
    • Build and lead high-performing teams across multiple locations
    • Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement
    • Develop staff capabilities in both operational and technical areas
    • Create training programs to ensure staff proficiency with new technologies and systems
    • Maintain 24/7 on-call availability to support critical operations
    • Model and promote IWU's Christian values and community lifestyle 
  • Financial Management & Project Oversight
    • Oversee operational budgets and financial performance metrics
    • Develop pricing strategies for conferencing and event services
    • Monitor and control expenses while maximizing revenue opportunities
    • Track and report on key performance indicators 

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Additional certifications in project management or technology management are advantageous

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in facilities management or operations leadership
  • Demonstrated success in revenue generation and business development
  • Proven track record of leading technological implementations or facility renovations
  • Experience in event management or conferencing services
  • History of successful team leadership and staff development

Required Skills

  • Must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to IWU Community Lifestyle Statement
  • Flexibility for evening and weekend work as needed for events
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to move throughout the facility and assist with physical setup as needed
    • Capable of operating various types of technology and audio-visual equipment
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
