Summary of Position: The ISP Operations Manager position at Indiana Wesleyan University plays a pivotal role in maintaining the efficient operation of the education center and creating a successful in-person experience for our international students and guests. This individual will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff and ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment conducive to learning. Duties include assisting with various administrative aspects of international student services and faculty support. Duties also include ensuring the smooth operation and success of the residency programs through effective execution and troubleshooting, assisting with administrative tasks and activities during in-person residencies, and providing general support as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support efforts to address international students’ unique needs and challenges while promoting student success
Manage ongoing systems related to residencies, such as attendance record keeping, staffing at residencies, student and faculty communications, and student ID production
Assist in supporting faculty during residencies, in addition to providing support to the Faculty Support Team through efforts such as participation in faculty training, assistance with academic supplies used at residencies, and processing faculty reimbursements
Manage supportive programming for international undergraduate and graduate students, such as new student residency meals, orientations, and co-curricular activities
In conjunction with the Regional Operations team, examine the condition of the facilities (e.g., furniture, fixtures, and equipment) to ensure they meet building standards and the needs of the International Student Program, assist in the building preparation and clean up related to residencies, and support hospitality efforts aimed at students, faculty, and guests
Support and follow response protocols for on-site incidents, including those that are highly complex in nature (e.g., sexual misconduct, alcohol and drug-related behavior, mental health concerns, bias incidents, and community conflict)
Provide administrative assistance and backup support to ISP staff and education center staff as needed
Serve as a Designated School Officer (DSO) with the Department of Homeland Security
Represent the university professionally in all interactions with students, faculty, vendors, and the community

Education
Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred
Experience
Experience in customer service and troubleshooting
Experience collecting and analyzing program data to evaluate and improve departmental effectiveness
Preferred experience in global education, international student services, or cross-cultural relationships
Required Skills
Possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement
Ability to work flexible hours and the availability to work weekends, specifically Fridays and Saturdays, during residency periods to ensure seamless program execution.
Attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident to become a Designated School Officer (DSO) with the Department of Homeland Security
Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support the residency programs, which may include overnight stays
Ability and desire to learn new technologies
Demonstrate a commitment to student success
