Summary of Position: The School of Theology and Ministry on the residential campus of Indiana Wesleyan University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Pastoral Counseling and Care. The ideal candidate should show evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ, full agreement with the Wesleyan-Arminian theology, and commitment to liberal arts learning and the integration of Christian faith and learning. Candidates should show substantial experience in full-time ministry in the local church, and pastoral counseling and care settings; demonstrate excellence in teaching at the collegiate level; and fully value women at all levels of leadership in the church. The preferred candidate should see their teaching as a service to the Church and should love the local church.
Start date to commence as soon as January 2026, pending funding.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach a 24-hour load
Advise and mentor students
Participate in STM Retreats and events
Serve on committees
Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
Applicants should have at least a master’s degree in an area of ministry, although a doctorate in a relevant area is preferred
Ordination in the Wesleyan Church or another holiness denomination is encouraged
Experience
Candidates should show substantial experience in full-time ministry in the local church, and pastoral counseling and care settings
Required Skills
Demonstrate excellence in teaching at the collegiate level
