Summary of Position: The UI/UX Developer will join a highly collaborative team to bring to life engaging, visually compelling, and functionally robust pages that push the envelope in higher education digital experiences. In addition to front-end development expertise, this position requires a strong sense of design to ensure visual consistency, brand alignment, and user-centric aesthetics across web properties. The successful candidate will blend technical execution with design intuition, ensuring that all pages meet best practices in SEO, UI/UX, accessibility, and visual design.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the University’s corporate website with a strong eye for layout, design, and responsiveness
Design and prototype modern, visually appealing interfaces and components in collaboration with the design team
Research, develop, and maintain front-end modules and patterns that support a consistent design system
Ensure development meets accessibility (WCAG), UI/UX, and SEO standards
Create wireframes, mockups, and design assets to support project planning and client presentations
Collaborate with design team to convert visual designs into pixel-perfect responsive HTML/CSS/JS
Use data and analytics tools to inform design decisions and improve site performance and user engagement
Work with the team to evaluate and implement new design trends, tools, and frameworks in support of enrollment and marketing goals
Contribute to the strategy and execution of the digital student journey, balancing aesthetics, usability, and performance
Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to refine designs and functionality
Ensure consistency with brand standards, visual identity, and tone across all web properties

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Web Development, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or equivalent combination of experience and education
Experience
Two or more (2+) years of professional front-end development and web design experience preferred
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in web languages (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript)
Solid understanding of visual design principles (typography, color theory, layout, composition)
Experience with responsive and mobile-first design techniques
Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, or similar
Familiarity with analytics and optimization tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, SiteImprove, VWO, Optimizely)
Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508)
Experience working within a CMS environment (CascadeCMS preferred)
Awareness of current UI/UX design trends and best practices
Ability to translate wireframes and high-fidelity designs into clean, maintainable code
Experience in Higher Education or agency environments is a plus
