Summary of Position: At the DeVoe School of Business, Technology, and Leadership (DSBTL), where “Unlearning Business as Usual” is our driving force, the Executive Director of Lifelong Learning & Strategy plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping and executing the school’s learner engagement, professional education, and public-facing innovation initiatives. This person serves as the architect of DeVoe’s experiential learning ecosystem, responsible for energizing the school’s learning pathways, designing transformative learner journeys, and spearheading immersive engagement across B2B and B2C channels. This role bridges strategic innovation and relational engagement, directly supporting the school’s Transformation B initiatives, driving lifelong learning strategies, and championing a modular, learner-first approach across all delivery formats.
Duties and Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Public Engagement
Lead execution of DeVoe’s external brand identity and reputation strategy
Design and manage multimedia content pipelines (podcasts, video interviews, events, blog series)
Forge strategic partnerships with influencers, organizations, and media platforms
Serve as a public voice of DeVoe through speaking engagements, conferences, and publications
Learner Experience Architecture
Design immersive IRL and virtual learner engagement initiatives
Lead the design of branded experiences across the learner journey: attraction, onboarding, re-engagement, and alumni connection
Oversee initiatives such as dropout certificate pipelines, lunch & learns, and pop-up learning installations
Collaborate with program directors to ensure the learner experience aligns with curricular innovation
Lifelong Learning Strategy
Drive professional learning initiatives including alumni subscriptions, corporate learning models, and CE offerings
Support the Insurance Vertical pilot through brand communication and learner engagement
Strategic Collaboration and Internal Innovation
Collaborate cross-functionally with the Dean and Assistant Dean to shape and execute Transformation B initiatives including 90 Credit Degrees
Provide data-informed insights and innovation recommendations using learner analytics and engagement metrics
Lead internal contractors (creative, video, design) for branded learning experiences
Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
Doctorate (DBA, EdD, PhD) in Business, Leadership, Communications, Learning Experience Design, or related field
Experience
Deep experience in brand strategy, storytelling, experience design, and executive communication
Proven record of public speaking, strategic facilitation, and media presence
Strong understanding of adult learning, modular curriculum design, and digital engagement trends
