Job Title: Criminal Law, Court Procedures, and Privacy Law (ICA-130, 140, 150)

Summary of Position:    Adjunct faculty for the Division of Behavioral and Health Sciences will be responsible for teaching online undergraduate students the curriculum established by the faculty in the facilitator model. This role focuses on the legal foundations of intelligence and crime analysis, including criminal law, judicial processes, and the balance between national security and civil liberties.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate online course modules for ICA-130 (Criminal Law & Justice for Analysts), ICA-140 (Court Procedures, Case Prep, & Testimony), and ICA-150 (Privacy, Civil Liberties, & Counterintelligence Law).
  • Guide students through the application of statutory definitions and constitutional protections.
  • Mentor students in preparing analytic products for judicial settings and expert testimony.
  • Integrate a Christian worldview regarding justice, accountability, and human dignity into legal discussions. - (Essential)

Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

  • Education/Professional Credentials/License: Doctorate or Master's level with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Law, Criminal Justice, or a closely related legal discipline. A JD is highly preferred.

Experience

  • Work Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in the legal system, such as a practicing attorney, judge, or senior intelligence officer specializing in legal oversight and counterintelligence law

  • Skills: Expertise in constitutional law, rules of evidence, surveillance law, and privacy frameworks.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of online educational delivery tools.
  • Demonstrated teaching abilities.
  • Demonstrated higher education experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learners
  • Demonstrated a commitment to building and cultivating diversity through leadership, teaching and/or service.
