The Clinical Author is part of a wider team responsible for delivering a variety of clinical training products. Clinical Authors will be responsible for writing training material used for Training and Continuous Professional Development requirements. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities:

  • Take high level change/ training requirements and develop guidance to meet the needs of the Functional Assessor within the HAAS setting, ensuring continuity of service and customer experience, in line with EBM (Evidence Based Medicine).
  • Liaise with a range of clinical peers across the NHS and private healthcare sector, charities and support organisations to produce detailed guidance that accurately reflects the specifications required.
  • Able to take constructive feedback and use this to continuously improve Clinical Guidance as necessary.
  • Ability to research and critically evaluate evidence, using valid and current sources to reference and provide further sources of reading for Functional Assessors.
  • Maintain own up to date knowledge of welfare matters.
  • Provide input into the annual TNA.
  • Undertake scheduled contractual review of guidance and update.
  • Maintain own personal training plan and undertake assessments to maintain ‘Approval’ from SoS (Secretary of State).

Essential Criteria:

  • Have a minimum of 12 months' post-graduation experience as a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, paramedic or nurse.
  • Be HCPC / NMC registered with no restrictions to practise.
  • Have a proven record of relevant Continual Professional Development (CPD) and revalidation.
  • Good sound knowledge of PIP and/ or WCA and ongoing ‘Approval’ from the Secretary of State.
  • Excellent literacy skills and the ability to logically review and edit documentation to a professional standard.
  • Ability to work as part of a wider team, manage own time and work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to take high level change/ training requirements and develop guidance to meet the needs of the HP within the FAS setting, ensuring continuity of service and customer experience, in line with EBM (Evidence Based Medicine).
  • Strong communicator with experience of liaising with multi-disciplinary health care professionals and key stakeholders of all levels.
  • An ability to draw on your experience as a clinical expert in your area and apply this to your role.
  • General IT skills and ability to use software effectively.
  • Driven and flexible.
  • Attention to detail.
