The Area Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for maintaining and improving clinical standards, engaging in meaningful discussion to support continuous quality improvements, whilst working closely with the Clinical Excellence Team.
Ensuring compliance of clinical standards through management of audits, and monitoring the performance of Clinical Standards Leads and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).
Additionally maintain their own DWP approval by carrying out Functional Assessments on clients with a range of conditions which allows the DWP to make decisions on a claimant’s capacity for work, or to assess the overall functional effects of the Claimant’s health condition or impairment on their everyday life, under the PIP and/or WCA guidelines. Assessors will be expected to use DWP processes and systems and conduct high quality assessments in an empathetic and professional manner.
Responsibilities:
• Liaises closely with Lot 4 Clinical Excellence Team to understand quality standards required
• Deliver productivity and quality standards as agreed between Ingeus and the DWP, and respond positively to feedback
• Ensures adherence to the clinical quality assurance programme
• Responsible for delivering clinical quality assurance programme in their operational area, including managing head of work of formal audit
• Ensures Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Clinical Standards Leads understand and adhere to the QA standards.
• Conducts clinical audits and case review as required
• Coaches and monitors the performance of Clinical Standards Leads and HCPs in conducting case reviews and formal clinical audits
• Analyse local trends and reports findings to the Lot 4 Performance Director, Clinical Excellence Director, and Head of Clinical Quality & Governance to develop local and national solutions for continuous improvement in clinical standards
• Participates in meetings with area colleagues and Lot 4 Clinical Excellence team to share knowledge and best practice and deliver improvements across Ingeus & wider providers
• Conducts sufficient assessments to maintain professional registration and approval, adapting to the needs of the business as required
Competencies:
• A minimum of 12 months experience as a registered healthcare practitioner (nurse, physician, physiotherapist, occupational therapist) in a WCA assessment centre or equivalent
• Be HCPC / NMC registered with no restrictions on practice
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and build positive relationships with medical colleagues and administrative staff
• Ability to apply professional skills, manage professional competence and accountability, in accordance with the governing body's Code of Conduct
• Complies with all applicable continuous professional development requirements
• Proven ability to coach and mentor HCPs to improve and maintain performance standards
• Ability to ensure that professional practice standards and best practices are maintained in all work areas
• Be able to take part in the continuous feedback cycle, including 360-degree feedback, and use this feedback to improve practice.
• Qualified to deliver Stage 3 training would be beneficial
• Qualified to perform case audits and provide instruction on writing reports that meet A-grade requirements
