Compliance and Audit Officer

Location: Based in London with occasional travel to Manchester and Birmingham

Salary: £32,000

As a proactive team member, you will support the business; working across Ingeus UK (IUK), contracts including our Delivery Partner Network, to ensure that a compliant and quality service is delivered.

The role involves scheduling and conducting internal and Delivery Partner audits in line with our annual schedule. In addition, you will facilitate external audits, conduct investigations, support with accreditations, compliance queries, and maintain accurate audit documentation.

The team are also responsible for ensuring internal processes are kept up to date with any guidance updates and provide support to Operational Colleagues to develop their knowledge of the processes

As the Compliance and Audit Officer, you will:

  • Facilitate external audits, conduct investigations, support with accreditations, compliance queries, and maintain accurate audit documentation
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all contractual guidance and relevant legislation, acting as an objective source of independent advice
  • Conduct audits on internal operations and delivery partners, providing assurance that controls are operating effectively, and contractual and regulatory requirements are being met
  • Design recommendations that are pragmatic and address the root causes of the underlying non-compliance identified
  • Review commissioner memo’s and changes to guidance and ensure that audit tools are updated
  • Work closely with the Head of Compliance and Audit, highlight risks as they arise and propose recommendations for improvement
  • Complete internal investigations as directed by the Head of Compliance and Audit; ensuring they are dealt with fairly and consistently, providing accurate and full detail to allow management to fully consider the matter and make informed decisions
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders including external auditors, commissioners, supply chain partners and operational staff

As the Compliance Audit Officer, you will have:

  • Recent experience of working within a busy Compliance, Audit and Quality environment.
  • Experience of working within Welfare to Work, Skills, Health, Youth and/or Justice industries is desirable
  • Broad experience of audit, including risk-based methodologies, risk management, controls, compliance, and industry best practice
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience and professional qualifications desirable e.g. CIA
  • Proven experience in all aspects of planning and implementing audits
  • Ability to interpret audit findings and communicate them in an effective manner to facilitate improvement where required
  • Ability to influence stakeholders to agree and drive actions to completion
