Job Title:  HV Senior Project Manager 

Base Location: Southampton, Hampshire     

Salary: Up to £63,000 plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and well-being. 

Working Pattern: Temporary | Full Time 

What will I be doing in this role?  

We’re looking for a HV/EHV Senior Project Manager to join the South HV team. 

High level overview of the role 

  • Responsible for a Team of Project Managers, SAPs, Fitters, Jointers and Electricians. 

  • Being a key point of contact for our clients ensuring service levels are met  

  • Provide technical engineering support to estimators, bid teams, design development, client management and development.  

  • Managing operational delivery of projects, ensuring key milestones are met and budget and cost management is maintained  

  • Ensuring that all SHE obligations are met at all times. 

  • Manage compliance of any necessary authorisations, NERS,  safe systems of works as required for the local team 

  • Act as the companies local authorising engineer for the region.  

 What do I need to be successful in the role? 

We expect our ideal candidate to come from an LV/HV/EHV background, possibly in a DNO or as an SAP, though we are open to considering candidates outside of this and we would love it if you had;  

  • A good knowledge and understanding of the LV/HV/EHV safety rules will be an advantage, our safety rules are based on the ENA Model Distribution Safety Rules. 

  • A good knowledge and understanding of operational control for HV & EHV switching. 

  • Significant experience of the Project Management of HV/EHV projects from concept to completion this should include HV / EHV design and build contracts in a contracting environment.  

  • An HNC qualification or equivalent in High Voltage Engineering or Power Systems Engineering, although this is not essential if relevant experience can be demonstrated.  

  • Good working knowledge of current CDM Regulations and your obligation under this regulation this should include a SMSTS or equivalent.  

  • Experience of management of NEC Contracts would be a beneficial 

  • Experience of management of safe systems of works and authorisations.
