Job Title: Lighting Designer – Highways Electrical

Base Location: Field based- Any UK location- Nottingham depot would be ideal.

Salary: £35,884 - £47,931  depending on skills and experience, Car Allowance plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Could you be our next Lighting Designer to join the team and drive this success forward?

What will I be doing in this role? 

Are you ready to be part of a dynamic team of lighting designers shaping the urban landscape across the UK and Ireland? This is your opportunity to join a well-established team, where innovation meets flexibility.

Initially, the design work will be predominantly working on LED conversion projects in County Cork in Ireland.  Additionally, there will be work involved in supporting Nottingham PFI and providing services to Consultants and Private Developers.

In a  typical day, you could expect to be;

  • Carrying out all aspects of the Lighting Design process for LED lantern replacements, lighting columns, wall-mounted units, and lit signs/traffic bollards
  • Taking ownership of the design element throughout the entire design and construction process
  • Coordinating with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
  • Undertaking on-site survey works for column replacement or new lighting schemes and lantern changes
  • Assessing suitable column positions and the preparation of drawings, risk assessments, schedules, and associated works.
  • Communicating regularly with clients to provide updates on project progress, address any concerns or questions they may have, and solicit feedback on design proposals and deliverables
  • Research and Development: Staying up-to-date with advancements in lighting technology, industry trends, and relevant regulations.

 

 

What do I need to be successful in the role?

  • Deep understanding of safety regulations, particularly CDM Regulations.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Lighting Reality, and relevant IT systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of lighting products, distribution, and energy performance.
  • Technical expertise in lighting theory and design techniques.
  • CPD records & ILP membership preferred, with a focus on continual professional development.
  • Experience in site surveying and familiarity with relevant regulations.
  • We do need you to have a full UK Driving Licence
