Job Title: HV/LV Cable Jointer  

Base Location: Slough, Poole, Salisbury 

Salary: Starting from £47,043 for a 45 hour week. plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.  

Working Pattern:Full Time, Permanent. Overtime there for those who want it

Could you be our next HV/LV Jointer to join the team and drive this success forwards? 

What will I be doing in this role?  

Enerveo have been awarded a prestigious LV/EHV contract for a DNO within the Wessex regions, the project consists of a full turnkey solution for design and build covering Reactive and Planned activities inclusive of design, planning, excavations, jointing and reinstatement, Enerveo will be assisting our client with all Faults and New connections up to 33Kv. 

You will perform the lead duties on HV & Live LV cable jointing and terminations, cable installations, cable fault repairs and Fault Locations. As an important technical professional, you will be expected to follow the Operational safety Rules and comply with legislative responsibilities. In a typical day, you could expect to be; 

  •  cable jointing and terminations, earthing, and cabling installations on HV & Live LV networks. 

  • Link box and LV Pillar replacements, HV Substation plant replacement works, and service mains changes  

  • Ensure all Jointing and cabling works are installed in accordance with the DNO specifications, engineering design, time constraints, statutory requirements and relevant standards. 

  • Use of cable avoidance equipment (CAT) Testing installations and recording results. 

  • Mark up drawings showing joint positions and cable installations. 

  • Mentoring and coaching less experienced staff in developing their knowledge and skills. 

  • Carry out work in a safe manner, always adhering to health and safety procedures and act as competent person to receive safety documentation. 

  • Identify and eliminate hazards and potentially dangerous situations working to Method statement, Risk Assessments and carrying out point of work risk assessments (POWRA). 

  • Proactively look at ways to enhance the service offered by the business and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of company processes. 

What do I need to be successful in the role? 

  • Experienced in Live low voltage Jointing and operation,11kV to 33kV DNO jointer preference of SSE Trained 

  • SSE Cat 1-5 Authorisation (LV Jointing and Supply point Testing) 

  • HV Fitting experience up to 11 kV to 33 kV would be advantageous. 

  • SMSTS site management Could be advantageous 

  • CSCS  

  • NSRWA  

Some of our ‘nice to haves’ are; 

  • Nexans T-Boot type terminations 

  • NKT Termination  

  • Pfisterer Termination 

  • British standard HV Joints and terminations  

  • First Aid Trained 

We can however support the right candidate to achieve any level of industry training/qualifications they may not have in the ‘nice to have’ list
