Base Location – Plymouth
Salary – Up to £51,638 per annum depending on qualifications/experience, Plus opportunity for Overtime.
Working Pattern - Full time-Temporary role, 45-hour week
Please note: This is a temporary position. Successful candidates will be onboarded and employed through our preferred recruitment agency partner. Initial contracts are for three months, with the possibility of extension or a permanent position, subject to business needs and candidate suitability.
The role will include:
- Working on HV & LV Networks, carrying out jointing, and cabling work on a pre-planned and quick response basis
- Being responsible for the safety of yourself and colleagues and acting as an ambassador for a strong safety culture in everything you do.
- This role can be demanding, and you'll also be required to respond quickly to any emergency situations that may arise as we want to provide the best possible service to our customers in their time of need.
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions with a requirement to undertake out of hours standby duties.
- Acting as a strong ambassador for Enerveo, always providing excellent customer service.
What do I need to be successful in the role?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- DNO Industry experience in the UK or overseas with a recognised cable jointing qualification in either LV, HV, 11kV or 33kV from a recognised training school, along with a proven track record in construction, repair and operation of electrical plant and equipment up to 33kV on DNO networks and should have a sound HV and LV electrical knowledge.
- Must have obtained an NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work.
- A flexible approach to complete out of hours stand-by duties and attend short notice/out of hours work.
- Proven experience in high voltage cable jointing and termination.
- Experience working as an Electrician would be advantageous.
- Communications skills ability to interact with other skilled trade professionals designers and clients.
- Use of testing equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
- It is an essential requirement you have a full UK driving licence as travel will be required.
- Familiarity with a variety of cable types and jointing techniques.
- Competence in using testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members clients and other stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out HV & LV Jointing and Cabling installation work efficiently in accordance with the National Working Rules for Electrical Contacting Industry and other relevant legislations.
- Ensure all work is installed in a safe manner that will not present harm or danger to others.
- Ensure compliance with all SHEQ policies and procedures
- Joint and Connect Cabling to circuit breakers transformers or other components.
- Inspect HV & LV Cabling systems equipment and components to identify hazards defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of high voltage cable systems to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines during all jointing and maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all jointing activities including diagrams test results and documentation of materials used.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers and other team members to ensure seamless execution of jointing works.
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders regarding project timelines progress and any potential issues.
- Out of Hours working. Inclusion on Standby Rota’s – N/A.
Qualifications:
• City & Guilds 2339-17 or 2304 or equivalent
• NVQ Level 3 Power Networks Craftsperson Qualification or equivalent
