We are looking for a Night Duty Support Worker for a Part Time position at our Supported Accommodation location Parkland Retreat in Noranda.
The current shifts we are advertising for are:
Week One – Tuesday & Wednesday 11pm-8am
Week Two – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday 11pm-8am
For a total of 63 hours per fortnight.
You must have:
- Have previous experience working with people with a disability and you are comfortable working with people with a range of disabilities.
- A person-centred approach to care through customer inclusion and participation.
- A resilient nature and be prepared to embrace change
- Experience working effectively in a team and building strong relationships with your coworkers
- A willingness to go above and beyond and use initiative
- Understand choice and control practices and have a passion to support your customers
What will you need to do?
- Support our customers in all aspects of life and empowering people to do as much as they can around their home, administering medication and assisting with personal care requirements (including personal hygiene)
- Have a detailed ongoing understanding of the person’s needs and overall well-being.
- Communicate and engage with the customer in a relevant and meaningful way, ensuring that customers are engaged as much as possible throughout their day.
- Support customers to maintain their home – doing daily tasks with them rather than for them.
- Ensure all supports and services provided are accurately documented and accounted for through timesheets, case notes, incident reporting, etc.
