About the position
Council’s Safer Communities Department is looking for a Community Laws Officer!
The main responsibilities will include:
- Investigate enquiries, complaints and promote compliance enforcing the requirements of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Customer service skills responding to enquiries, complaints, appeals and general correspondence from internal and external stakeholders.
- Animal handling skills, the collection of animals and investigation of dog attacks.
- School crossing supervisor, provide supervision and ensure safety of children and the general public in accordance with council regulations and relevant legislation
About you
- Proven experience in regulatory enforcement or similar role.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Current Victorian drivers licence
- Hold a minimum Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation or other relevant qualification
- Proven experience in applying legislation to relevant Local Laws and State Victorian Legislation.

This position is a Band 5A currently remunerated at $82,567.33 per annum, plus superannuation. Overtime will also be paid as required.
