This is an opportunity to join our Bindi Enterprises team in Alice Springs as Bindi Workshop Senior Support Worker/Supervisor. This exciting and unique role is perfect for someone with strong carpentry skills and is passionate about providing supports to people living with a disability within a workshop setting.

The Bindi Workshop operates as a timber manufacturing facility and has a long-standing line of inhouse designed woodwork products and timber production partner contracts.


The role is focussed on providing person centred support to adult Supported Employees to create flexible and innovative workplace solutions that generate income for the people we support and the organisation.

As a Senior Support Worker your responsibilities will include:

    • Working with Supported Employees and assist in the design and manufacturing of current and future contracted work and product development
    • Facilitate creative and innovative development whilst delivering business development opportunities
    • Mentoring and development – guiding Supported Employees to explore and develop skills and daily goals
    • Adherence to individual support plans and NDIS funding
    • Completing clear, concise and factual progress notes and incident reports

What you will bring to make a difference in other’s lives

    • Sound experience in timber work production and manufacturing of items
    • Experience in disability support, and experience with administration duties
    • Versatile communication skills including the ability to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers
    • Current driver’s license and full access to an insured vehicle for transportation of customers if required (mandatory requirements)
    • Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or be willing to obtain) 
    • Current First Aid Certificate, HLTAID003 (or be willing to obtain)
    • Formal qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or similar, would be advantageous
