Bindi Enterprises is seeking a dedicated and culturally aware Arts Support Worker to support adult artists in their personal development in a creative studio environment. This role focuses on delivering person-centred supports that enhances wellbeing, builds artistic skills, and creates meaningful employment pathways through arts practice.
About the Role
You will provide hands-on support to artists to develop creative skills, participate in exhibitions, and engage with the community. You will contribute to a vibrant studio environment, support the development of artworks, and play an active role in promoting and marketing art within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred supports to artists in the fine art studio, digital art program to enhance independence, skills and confidence
- Assist with preparation of art materials, including canvas preparation and paint mixing
- Support artistic development, exhibitions, workshops and community events
- Assist with cataloguing, photographing and promoting artworks, including online sales and gallery liaison
- Provide customer service and information to gallery visitors and art sector stakeholders
- Foster a safe, inclusive and culturally respectful environment
- Support planning, goal setting and skill development aligned with individual participant plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow organisational policies and procedures
About You
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (essential)
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with participants and families
- Experience supporting people in a community services, disability, or arts-related environment
- A strong appreciation or experience in the Aboriginal arts industries and creative practice (highly desirable)
- Experience working with people from central desert communities (highly desirable)
- Commitment to inclusion and diversity
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
What you’ll have (or ability to obtain)
- Current full drivers licence
- National Police Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- First Aid and CPR certification
