The Role

This is more than simply supporting daily routines. You’ll be part of creating a safe, structured and therapeutic environment where young people can build confidence, develop life skills and experience positive, consistent relationships.

You’ll be:

• Supporting young people with their daily routines, care and activities
• Building positive relationships based on trust, consistency and respect
• Responding calmly to challenges and behavioural needs
• Mentoring young people to explore their interests, hobbies and cultural activities
• Working collaboratively on individualised care plans and maintaining clear, factual documentation

You’ll also administer medication safely, follow individual support plans and complete handover notes and incident reports when required.

What We’re Looking For

The right experience is important, but so is how you show up for a young person.

We’re looking for people who are empathetic, resilient and dependable. You’ll be able to stay calm when things get challenging, adapt your approach when needed and understand that building trust can take time.

You’ll also need:

• A Diploma in Youth Work, Child & Family, or Community Services OR willingness to enrol
• A current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
• Required probity clearances
• Full availability across a range of shifts, including weekends and overnights
• A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and willingness to learn
