In this pivotal role of DEI Advisor At RSM, you will collaborate with various stakeholders across the firm in driving our DEI initiatives, engagement and strategic goals ensuring that our workplace remains inclusive and supportive for all.
This is a 12 month contract role with a view to extend or offer a permanent position after that period.
This role can be based in our Sydney or Melbourne office.
In this role you will:
- Work closely with the DEI Lead and People and Culture team to support the implementation of the RSM DEI Strategy and key priorities.
- Work with People and Culture to ensure that all DEI-related people processes and practices are inclusive, compliant and follow best practice.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, leaders and our people across the firm to build engagement and advance RSM’s DEI Strategy
- Regularly update and maintain DEI-related content on internal and external platforms in collaboration with our National Marketing team, ensuring consistency and alignment with the firm’s values and goals, and in line with our DEI calendar of events.
- Research and develop data on DEI best practices and work closely with People & Culture team to improve our DEI related data capture and governance
- Support our national Taskforce, committees and networks
- Assist with DEI proposals and project manage initiatives in line with our DEI Strategy
- Lead DEI projects as defined by our DEI strategy by setting objectives, milestones, and managing timelines.
- Manage relationships and reporting with our external partnerships and work alongside the People & Culture on legislative reporting requirements such as WGEA.
- Collaborate with Global DEI Teams and act as a point of contact for global DEI collaboration and alignment.
- Organise and manage internal DEI events as required
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years DEI role within a corporate environment. Experience in a professional services firm or similar setting. An understanding of the partnership operational model is highly desirable but not essential.

- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate DE&I updates, collaborate with teams, and prepare business cases.
- Collaboration: Ability to work across departments and regions, fostering alignment between national, local, and global DE&I efforts.
- Cultural Competence: Deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion issues, particularly those related to underrepresented groups such as First Nations peoples.
- Research and Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct thorough research, analyse trends, and provide data-driven recommendations for DE&I strategies.
- Adaptability: Flexible and proactive in responding to emerging DE&I needs and challenges within the organisation.
- Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address obstacles in DE&I initiatives and projects.
- Event Management: Experience in planning and facilitating DE&I events, including handling logistics and engaging participants.
- Project Management: Strong organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple DE&I initiatives and projects simultaneously.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, particularly in tracking project progress, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate communication.
Desirable but not essential:
- Certification in DE&I or related fields (such as a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from recognised institutions) is desirable but not required.
- Have an understanding of DEI legislation
- Project management experience with a strong track record of managing multiple, large-scale initiatives.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, including local, national, and global coordination.
- Familiarity with DE&I best practices, particularly related to underrepresented groups such as First Nations peoples.
- Experience in preparing and presenting business cases to leadership or stakeholders, with the ability to demonstrate ROI and impact.
