What you’ll be doing in this role
This crucial role will see you leading the clinical coding function ensuring high quality, accurate and timely clinical coding that fulfils both business and legislative requirements.
Your new team of seven, are highly skilled and experienced clinical coders, who work collaboratively with each other and the wider business to ensure the highest standards in clinical coding. You will manage the team to ensure key performance indicators are met.
In this role you will not only lead and support your immediate team but liaise and support key internal and external stakeholders up to an executive level.
Ensure all medical records are coded in accordance with the National Centre for Classification in Health (NCCH) standards and guidelines, Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) guidelines and Sydney Adventist Hospital coding authority.
Who we’re looking for
- You’ll have recent demonstrated leadership experience managing a clinical coding function
- You’ll be a highly experienced clinical coder yourself, having worked for many years at a large (tertiary) hospital
- You’ll have a comprehensive working knowledge of ICD-10-AM / ACHI and ACS coding classification including demonstrated recent experience in clinical coding, auditing and related software
- You’ll have previous training in ICD 10-AM 12th Edition and experience using 3M Codefinder
- You’ll have excellent communication (written / verbal), with strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience liaising and supporting both internal and external stakeholders up to C Suite level.
- You’ll also ideally have experience with private health sector funding and billing requirements
- You’ll have a Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management) or equivalent
