What you’ll be doing in this role

The San has one of the largest theatre departments in Australia with 19 operating theatres, including a Da Vinci robot system, an orthopaedic joint replacement robot, and supports our emergency care department meaning that there’s lots of variety to keep you busy!

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented administrator to be responsible for entering and validating the theatre and Day Procedure bookings for upcoming surgeries. You’ll report to the Theatre Bookings Manager, and work with your supportive and engaged team to ensure optimal scheduling and resource allocation. You’ll effectively communicate requirements to relevant departments, making sure everything runs smoothly, and cover other general administration duties such as the front reception desk, responding to phone and email enquiries, data entry and organising patient files.

This is a busy and varied role where your proactive approach and attention to detail will drive maximum utilisation of theatre time and resources, enhancing the efficiency and impact of the perioperative environment.

This role is full time Mon – Fri, ideally 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm shift times.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • You’ll have previous experience in a similar clerical or administration role and knowledge of Medical Terminology (preferable).
  • You’ll be systematic, organised, able to multi-task under pressure, have excellent attention to detail and able to carry tasks to completion. Ideally, you’ll have experience with scheduling and matching services to requests.
  • You’ll be computer literate, with high proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • You’ll be collaborative, adaptable, and be able to work independently and as part of a team, with the ability to take feedback and adjust to changing needs and priorities.
  • You’ll have outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • You’ll be a people person, with strong customer service skills and prepared to embrace Adventist Healthcare’s everyday values of excellence and integrity.
