What you will be doing in this role

Sydney Adventist Hospital is pleased to announce the opening of our state-of-the-art Interventional Neuro‑Radiology (INR) Hybrid Theatre—a purpose-built environment designed to deliver advanced neuro-spinal and endovascular care.

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Scrub/Scout Nurse to join our supportive team in the Neuro Spine and Interventional Neuro Radiology specialty (INR).  This is a unique chance to be part of a highly specialised multidisciplinary team working in a newly commissioned hybrid theatre. You will gain exposure to cutting-edge technology, advanced imaging systems, and collaborative practice alongside neurosurgeons, interventional neuroradiologists, anaesthetists, and perioperative staff.

This full-time role offers a mix of morning and afternoon shifts, along with the opportunity to be part of the on-call roster. In this role, you’ll provide safe, evidence-based care that aligns with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) and Australian College of Perioperative (ACORN) standards. You’ll be applying your critical thinking skills and clinical expertise to make informed decisions, respond to emergencies, and ensure that every patient receives the best possible care. 

Who we’re looking for

  • At least 3 years' experience in the Neuro/Spine and Interventional Neuro (INR) specialty, with a strong understanding of evidence-based practice and critical thinking to inform clinical decision-making.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate clearly and professionally within a multidisciplinary team, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proven commitment to professional development, demonstrated by active participation in ongoing education and training, and a willingness to apply and share your knowledge with colleagues.
  • Basic computer skills and a proven ability to use health information systems to manage patient records and contribute to a streamlined workflow.
  • Recent perioperative nursing experience, with a solid understanding of surgical procedures, patient care in the perioperative setting, and the ability to act quickly in emergency situations.
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, with a strong commitment to practising in accordance with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) and Australian College of Perioperative (ACORN) standards.
  • Must hold Australian working rights to be eligible for this role, ensuring compliance with employment regulations.
