What you will be doing in this role

Working as a full-time Neurosurgical Unaccredited Trainee you will work under the supervision of Neurosurgery Specialists to provide care for patients with acute and chronic neurosurgical conditions.

The Neurosurgery Department at the San provides an exciting opportunity to work in an environment with first-class facilities and a great team of medical, nursing and allied health staff.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll be a Registrar with at least 2 years post-graduation with the following skills and experience:

Essential Criteria:

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Registered Medical Practitioner with AHPRA
  • Post graduate year 2 minimum
  • Demonstrated competency in clinical skills including effective assessment, care planning care provision, case management and management of clinical emergencies
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • You’ll have full Australian working rights

Desirable Criteria:

  • You’ll have clinical experience in neurosurgery
  • You’ll be experienced with demonstrated ability in supervising junior medical officers

About Us 

The San has a unique commitment to health workforce education.  Through partnerships with the ANU Faculty of Medicine and Avondale College of Higher Education Faculty of Nursing, the hospital is an education hub with a purpose-built clinical school on site training medical, nursing and allied health students.

What to expect

Successful candidates will be required to complete a range of pre-employment checks and assessments. These vary and will include professional references, a national police check, working with children check, vaccination evidence, among others.
