What you will be doing in this role
Join our 30‑bed, state‑of‑the‑art Intensive Care Unit in a permanent role, you’ll step into one of the most dynamic and rewarding critical care environments in NSW! Every shift brings the opportunity to deliver advanced acute nursing care to patients with complex and rapidly changing needs, while working alongside a close‑knit multidisciplinary team committed to exceptional outcomes.
You’ll manage a diverse caseload spanning general intensive care, cardiothoracic, and neuro patients, and play a vital role supporting our busy emergency department, 20 Operating Theatres, and medical and surgical wards. This is a fast‑paced unit where your clinical judgement, adaptability, and compassion truly matter -and where you’ll be supported by experienced ICU specialists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Clinical Nurse Educators, and a dedicated Nurse Unit Manager who will champion your growth.
You’ll be encouraged to expand your expertise through ongoing education, mentorship, and quality improvement initiatives, all while making a meaningful impact in an environment where every heartbeat counts.
Who we’re looking for
- Must have current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years post registration experience with critical care setting
- Postgraduate qualifications or current enrolment in Critical Care or Intensive Care Nursing
- Sound clinical assessment and decision-making skills, with the ability to respond effectively in rapidly changing situations
- Must be available to work a rotating roster, including AM, PM, and night shifts, to meet the operational requirements of the unit
- Exceptional communicator (both verbally and written) with demonstrated experience in professionally communicating with patients, their families and colleagues
