The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Associate Professor to join the School of Science within Monash University Malaysia. 

Reporting to the Head of School / Professor (Level E) under broad supervision, the focus of this role will be to contribute to the research and education efforts of the school. The Associate Professor is expected to provide leadership within the University and in their discipline and profession, leading a world-class program of research in an aspect of Immunology and/or Physiology aligned with strategic priorities. Your role will include conducting original research that will lead to high quality publications and attract external and government funding. Additionally, the position may involve supervising higher degree research students and postdoctoral fellows.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for leading and participating in innovative teaching programs, involving the preparation and development of course material, delivery of lectures, e-learning, and group teaching. Your duties will extend to providing leadership in the development and delivery of new coursework in Medical Bioscience, including year level and unit coordination, assessment, and student consultation.

A Level D academic shall have qualifications and/or experience recognised by the University as appropriate for the relevant discipline of Immunology and/or Physiology. A position at this level will require a doctoral qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing. In determining experience relative to qualifications, regard shall be had to teaching experience, experience in research, experience outside tertiary education, creative achievement, professional contributions and/or contributions to technical achievement. In addition, a position at this level will normally require a record of leadership and demonstrable scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant discipline area.
