The basics of this position:
Student Workers in the library perform duties necessary in order to keep library materials shelved and organized.
What you'll do:
- • Organizes and sensitizes materials in preparation for shelving.
• Shelves books, videos, and other audiovisual materials using the Dewey decimal filing system
• Shelves periodicals and special files materials, both chronologically and alphabetically.
• Maintains order in the book collections by shelf reading.
• Assists various staff/faculty with projects requiring skills such as organizing, counting, or stuffing envelopes for mailing for intercampus and MOBIUS mail.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education, experience, and other requirements:
• Currently enrolled student.
• Ability to work one night a week (5:00pm-9:00pm), Monday through Thursday.
• Required knowledge and ability to sort and file using decimals (Dewey Decimal system), other abilities; to think logically, to perform accurate and detailed work, to book carts, shelve books, operate elevator, and to work independently.
