What is the role?
We are currently seeking a Sales Manager – Modernisation based in our Brisbane office. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing our Modernisation sales team while driving growth within the existing building and asset upgrade market.
This is a strategic leadership opportunity focused on both people and business growth. You will be responsible for coaching a team of Technical Sales Consultants, strengthening relationships with key customers and identifying future market opportunities. With Queensland entering a significant period of infrastructure investment and urban development, including projects linked to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, this role will be instrumental in expanding Schindler’s modernisation portfolio.
Your key accountabilities will include:
The successful candidate will be a commercially driven leader with a proven track record of delivering growth, developing teams and building strong customer partnerships within the lift, construction, building services or related industries.
You will also bring:
- Degree or Diploma qualification in Business, Engineering, Building, Marketing or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years' sales experience within the lift industry or a related construction or building services environment.
- Proven sales leadership experience with a strong track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong customer relationship management skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across consultants, developers, builders and key accounts.
- Commercial acumen with experience managing pricing, margins, contracts and profitability.
- Strong sales pipeline, forecasting and opportunity management capability.
- Sound technical understanding of complex products and customer requirements.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, quotation tools, Excel and sales reporting platforms.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Engineering, Finance and Procurement.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Current driver's licence.
Highly Regarded
- Experience in the lift, construction or building services industries.
- Consultative selling and strategic account management experience.
- Knowledge of NCC, accessibility requirements and relevant Australian Standards.
- Experience using data and analytics to improve sales performance.
- Process improvement, change management and digital transformation experience.
- Established networks across developers, builders, consultants and industry stakeholders.
