About the Opportunity
A unique opportunity exists for a Compliance Officer to join Savills legal team in the Sydney CBD office. This newly created role, reporting into the General Counsel, will offer the opportunity to undertake a variety of interesting and diverse responsibilities, supporting Savills Australia and New Zealand teams.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Designing and implementing a comprehensive compliance framework that balances regulatory requirements with commercial acumen
- Monitoring and interpreting regulatory changes affecting the property industry including real estate, valuations, property management and construction
- Leading the development of compliance policies, procedures and training programs to ensure corporate compliance
- Managing and executing audit and compliance services to support compliance audits
- Assisting the legal team with the development of a compliance culture
- Providing strategic advice to corporate services, real estate, project management, asset management and valuations teams on regulatory compliance
- Developing and maintaining relationships with regulatory bodies, including ASIC and external stakeholders.
- Supporting the legal team with the training and education of all staff in areas of work health & safety, asset management, legislative Agency requirements, risk management, and various corporate compliance requirements
What Sets You Apart
- Proven experience working in a compliance and/or regulatory role
- Working knowledge of, Corporations Law, Anti Money Laundering and Work, Health & Safety
- Experience in Real Estate Licensing Legislation, Fair Trading and/or Australian Financial Services highly regarded
- Professional skills – demonstrate market knowledge and proficiency in the field; attention to detail, maintain high ethical standards; keep abreast of industry and professional developments to maintain personal expertise
