About the opportunity:
Kinetic IT is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in Melbourne on a permanent, full-time basis. You'll be supporting a large enterprise environment, delivering operational support, resolving incidents, and fulfilling network-related service requests across a wide variety of technologies. This is a hands-on technical role working alongside a skilled team of engineers to maintain reliable network services across metropolitan and regional sites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responding to Enterprise Network incidents and requests across the customer environment.
- Work collaboratively to diagnose complex issues, including outages across customer sites.
- Configure and support AWS networking components, including subnets, VLANs, and gateways to name a few.
- Support end users and other internal teams by investigating network-related incidents.
- Participate in an on-call roster (every 3 weeks) with appropriate compensation.
- Contribute to network documentation, change management, and continuous improvement efforts.
About you:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Network Engineering role within an enterprise-grade environment.
- Mandatory experience in Cisco Routing and Switching, FortiGate or equivalent firewalls, AWS Networking – Subnets, VLANs, gateways and ITIL.
- Desirable experience with Cisco SD-WAN, Catalyst Center, Wireless LAN Controllers, ServiceNow and F5 technologies.
- DevOps practices in network automation.
- CCNP or equivalent certification (desirable).
- A valid driver’s licence (required for regional travel).
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and strong troubleshooting ability.
