About the Role:

The role of the VIC Ultrasound Lead is to lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the national operating model for a patient-centred, quality Ultrasound service. The US Lead will contribute to quality & safety initiatives, training and development, recruitment and retention, as well as identifying innovative and strategic ways to enhance our community-based approach to diagnostic radiology.

This position will be on a part-time basis (approx. 4 days per week), on a 12-month basis.

It will support our organisation’s employee value proposition with attention on training, development, and general support for Sonographers, whilst searching for innovative ways to grow the business and improve our community-based approach to diagnostic imaging.

You will be responsible for:

  • The clinical leadership of the Sonographer workforce and US service
  • Lead the design, development and delivery oversight of sonographer training programs, maintaining a climate of continuous learning and improvement across the network
  • Contributing to quality and safety initiatives
  • Contribute to driving operational excellence
  • Oversee professional development and training of qualified sonographers
  • Support recruitment and retention
  • Drive innovative and strategic initiatives
  • Excellent customer service provisions coupled with good teamwork amongst clinical staff, whilst maintaining a professional and proactive relationship with attending Radiologists, referrers and support staff
  • Promotion and delivery of a high standard of customer service and patient care, acting in accordance with company policies, procedures and values

You Will Have:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in Sonography
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated strong business and commercial acumen and use of initiative
  • Experience in teaching/mentoring role is desired
  • Knowledge of and adherence to regulation and statutory guidelines
  • Effective Communication and professionalism
  • Teamwork and good peer relationships
  • Customer focused and ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion
