Job Description:

The Event Coordinator is a vital member of the Rocket Career Center team, responsible for leading efforts in data management, event logistics, and Handshake platform administration. This position ensures smooth operations across a wide range of functions, including compiling and analyzing data for reports, managing departmental budgets, and maintaining accurate records for presentations and major project plans for events.

Additionally, the role serves as the primary administrator for Handshake—reviewing and approving employers and job postings, managing events and career fairs within the platform, and providing technical support to students, staff, and external partners. Occasional weekends and local travel will be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
• Bachelor’s degree required and minimum of one (1) year related work experience, or a combination of education and experience.
• Higher education experience preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat required.
• Experience with webforms and Microsoft forms preferred
• Experience with Handshake, online job platform, a plus.
• Experience with Canva, graphic design platform, a plus
• Experience with Modern Campus CMS or other website editing platforms, a plus

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service excellence.
• Superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform data analytics and visualization for report generation.
• Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize projects, and the flexibility to adapt to changing goals and priorities.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced office setting.
