Job Description:

The Assistant Professor - Family Medicine is a Physician that will have responsibility for providing clinical services in a medical office designated and operated by the University of Toledo Medical Center while performing professional medical services on behalf of the University to the best of their ability and in accordance with the applicable standards of the profession of Family Medicine.

The duties will include, but not be limited to, keeping and maintaining (or causing to be kept and maintained) appropriate records relating to all professional services rendered and preparing and attending to, in connection with such services, all reports, claims, and correspondence necessary or appropriate to the circumstances. This position will comply with all compliance policies, procedures, HIPAA requirements, patient privacy regulations, and directives from the University, including but not limited to appropriate documentation and coding of professional services. The Physician will also do all things reasonably desirable to maintain and improve their professional skills for the benefit of the university, their patients, residents, and to improve the University's standing in the community generally and among physicians, and will maintain such professional licenses, memberships, and adhere to the principles of medical ethics of the American Medical Association and with applicable federal and state statutes and regulations.

As a role model for The University of Toledo medical students and resident physicians, this role will maintain the highest standards of care, respect the needs and expectations of patients, and embrace the contributions of all members of the health-care team.

As an educator, this role will provide clinical instruction and evaluate each assigned medical student and resident physician's performance on a regular basis, provide appropriate verbal and written feedback, and document achievement of the competencies required to meet education objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The faculty member must be a MD/DO who has successfully completed a residency in neurology as well as a fellowship (if applicable).
  • The candidate must be Board Certified or become Board Certified within 3 years of recruitment.
  • Must meet all the institutional requirements for appointment to Assistant Professor.
  • Hold an active and unrestricted OH Medical License
