Job Description:
The primary job function is to prepare capital project contracts with outside vendors for architect/engineer services and construction. Responsibilities also include the preparation of State capital requests and documentation to obtain State approval for the release and encumbrance of funding, along with the processing and tracking of financial requirements for all capital projects. Works as an integral team member, providing support services to the Director, Business Operations & Director, Campus Planning & Design/University Architect, as well as financial, academic and clinical operations throughout the capital project process. The Senior Contract Specialist will have the authority, in the absence of the Directors, to make independent decisions related to capital project contracts to ensure business continues as usual.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelors Degree and 5-7 years experience or minimum of 10 years of experience in higher education capital planning and administration at the State level in lieu of Bachelors Degree.
2. Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or directly related field preferred.
3. Strong knowledge and understanding of construction processes and methods.
4. Knowledge of the policies and contract procedures of the State of Ohio, Facilities Construction Commission preferred.
5. Strong written and oral communication skills.
6. Fluency in working with Microsoft Office.
