Job Description:

The Administrative Director for Transplant Service Line provides strategic and operational leadership for the UTMC Center for Transplant Medicine and affiliated clinics and outreach services across UToledo Health. This role delivers oversight and coordination of operations within the transplant service line ensuring alignment with UTH’s mission of academic excellence, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher degree in healthcare, business, education or related field required; MBA or MHA preferred.
• Seven plus years of previous management experience required with at least five in years in a relevant healthcare setting with transplant services experience preferred.
• Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives certification preferred.
• Experience, training, and/or certification in operations improvement methodologies (i.e. lean six sigma) desired.
• Tactful, respectful, and courteous in dealing with patients, visitors, students, residents, physicians, and staff.
• Able to maintain effective working relationships with personnel and medical staff.
• Successfully completed orientation program within 90 days.
• Demonstrates ability to work with self-direction with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work closely with multiple teams.
• Previous experience with accreditation standards including the Joint Commission.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or similar software applications with proven knowledge of standard computer manipulation required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both oral and written format.
• Ability to successfully operate and manage others in complex, high paced team-based environments requiring sophisticated interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional, service-oriented working relationships with patients, families, physicians, nurses, co-workers, supervisors and others.
• Ability to analyze data, perform multiple tasks and work independently.
• Must be able to understand and comply with policies and procedures.
• Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a professional office environment with a high-performance team of professionals in partnership toward common objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or MHA preferred.
• At least five in years in a relevant management experience in a healthcare setting with transplant services experience preferred.
• Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives certification preferred
