Job Description:
This position is responsible for the server administration and daily server operations of The University of Toledo’s server infrastructure including upgrades, installation, and troubleshooting of server related hardware, software, and applications. The Server Systems Administrator will provide Epic ECSA Web and Service Systems and/or ODB support related to install, troubleshooting, and assist with managing server systems.
This position participates in medium-to-large server projects under the direction of senior server administration personnel and the Manager Server Administration. The position performs follow-up activities to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained.
All members of the University Server Team rotate on-call responsibilities to ensure 24x7x365 availability of the enterprise academic, administrative, and clinical systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area of study (i.e., Computer Science, Electronics, Information Systems, etc.) is required. Other areas of study will be considered with five years of relevant experience.
o Three years of increasing experience in the areas of server administration, systems management, hypervisor administration, and network management in a medium to large organization.
o Experience in troubleshooting server hardware and software problems.
o Advanced knowledge of the Windows Server operating systems, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux/Oracle Enterprise Linux systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
o Experience working in either a healthcare or academic environment.
o Microsoft Server certification (2016+ MCSE, MCSA), or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) / Oracle Certified Professional.
o Detailed knowledge of PowerShell scripting or programming.
o Epic EMR ECSA Web and Service Servers and/or Epic ODB experience with current Epic certification(s).
