A postdoctoral position is available for an organic/medicinal chemist skilled in multistep organic synthesis and characterization. The preferred candidate will work independently to synthesize a series of seven ligands for delivery to a collaborating pharmaceutical company in the required amounts, purity, and project timeframe. Expertise in multistep synthesis (10 steps or greater is preferred), purification, and structural characterization of novel chemical matter, including NMR, mass spectrometry, and related techniques, is essential. Bimonthly progress reports and meetings with the sponsor will be expected. The nature of the compounds is confidential. The sponsor is supportive of publication after necessary consideration of intellectual property, but publication decisions will be at the sponsor’s discretion. This position is funded for one year.
