SCAD Savannah seeks a highly skilled professor to join a roster of professionals who have worked for the giants of the visual effects industry and who are the masterminds behind the most iconic animated films of our era.

As a professor, you will prepare students to become leaders in the imaginative discipline of visual effects, transforming static visions into vivid visual sequences. You will instruct students in the use of high-end, professional digital tools and top-of-the-line studios and equipment. You will also provide high-quality educational opportunities to students in a professional environment where knowledge, creativity, discipline, and character are developed. Teaching activities, other assigned duties, and the professor’s personal conduct will support this purpose and the university’s policies and philosophy.

In this role, you will attend on-ground events, including those sponsored by the admission department, institutional effectiveness, institutional advancement, or other publicity assignments. You will teach classes in accordance with your employment agreement. You may be required to participate in faculty councils or other extracurricular events.

Minimum qualifications:    

  • Terminal degree in visual effects or a relevant field
  • Academic and professional credentials to teach in visual effects
  • Two years of work experience in a related profession OR post-secondary teaching experience
