As a lead housekeeper II, you’ll join a dedicated and enthusiastic team that maintains the university’s stunning guest houses throughout historic Savannah, including Magnolia Hall and Smithfield Cottage. You’ll ensure that spaces look their best for guests to ensure their comfort and make their time at SCAD memorable.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are a must, and you’ll use those skills to interact with guests. You must also pay close attention to detail and consistently maintain confidentiality and discretion.
Your housekeeping responsibilities will include:
• Thoroughly cleaning all interior spaces (e.g., dust, vacuum, mop, and sanitize)
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization to ensure a welcoming, comfortable environment
• Washing, ironing, and folding clothes and linens
• Caring for delicate materials and follow specific care instructions for high-end fabrics and furnishings
• Regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs and coordinate repairs
• Minor repairs and maintenance or arrange professional services
Regarding outdoor responsibilities, you’ll:
• Maintain lawn care, gardens, and landscapes
• Maintain the pool, outdoor furniture, equipment, and structures
• Oversee irrigation systems and coordinate with external contractors for specialized tasks
Additionally, you’ll:
• Coordinate with external vendors for events and gatherings held at the residence
• Greet visitors, serve refreshments, and ensure guest comfort throughout their stay
• Plan and prepare meals according to household members’ dietary preferences and requirements
• Ensure the kitchen is stocked with necessary ingredients and supplies
• Feed, walk, and clean up after pets (one small dog)
•Assist with packing and unpacking for travel
Minimum qualifications:
• Previous experience in a similar role within a private household or luxury estate
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities
• Knowledge of basic household maintenance and safety procedures
Preferred qualifications:
• Culinary skills and knowledge of various cuisines
• Experience with gardening and landscaping
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record
Travel required:
• Less than 10%
