As a technical production manager, you will coordinate with internal departments and outside clients to promote events held at SCADshow, SCAD COURT, and the FORTY event space. You will serve as a liaison, working closely with clients to ensure equipment is correctly set up and operating for all events. You will manage sound, lighting, and technical operations during shows and events to ensure the equipment is in working order for continuous use. You will train, schedule, and manage technical leads, production leads, and student workers. Your responsibilities will also include planning meetings to assist with event ideation alongside the director of production. Among other duties, you will represent the department at meetings to present proposals for approval and will meet with outside rental groups to assess needs and develop cost sheets. In this position, you will maintain healthy working relationships with vendors and rental companies, assist with load-ins, manage rental equipment installations, track upcoming event needs, and place orders. For each event, you will work with the director of production to ensure the full value of the rental is paid. Occasionally, you will be asked to oversee off-campus and signature events to maintain the university’s high level of excellence.
