University Safety Operations Center Specialist Atlanta
As the university safety operations center specialist, you will direct and dispatch university safety patrol officers to areas of concerns and calls for service. You will monitor extensive CCTV system’s focusing on buildings and grounds as well as intrusion alarms. Among other duties, you will retrieve camera footage for use in court testimony and testify in criminal proceedings when necessary. You will also utilize basic crime analysis software to assist in the deployment of field personnel and manage campus transportation requests. This position is identified as essential personnel in the university's emergency and disaster response plans. In the event of a university closure or evacuation, all essential personnel shall report.

Providing a safe learning environment for our students, staff and faculty is the core function of the SCAD Department of University Safety. Safety officers will work at various locations and roles throughout the Savannah and Atlanta campuses. Safety Officer positions include patrol officer and fixed post officer. In both of these roles, responsibilities include deterring undesirable behaviors, writing and inputting reports, conducting visual inspections of facilities, directing traffic, responding to radio calls as needed, calling in safety concerns, completing visual inspections and observing occurrences of areas being patrolled.
