Position Summary: Assist entering law students with professionalism assignments the first four weeks, and serve as peer mentors throughout the rest of the semester.
Essential Functions:
Mentors must be available to meet for training the week before First Week (Orientation), twice with students during First Week (Orientation), weekly during the first two weeks of the regular semester, and then as needed throughout the rest of the first semester.
Non-Essential Functions:
Answering the phone, filing, and typing.
Required Qualifications:
-Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8.
-Applicant must be enrolled as a 2L, 3L, or LLM student at Washburn University Law School.
-No honor code violation or honor code investigation pending.
-Be self-motivated, reliable, with sincere interest in helping incoming first-year students.
-Professionalism.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality.
-Computer/keyboarding skills.
-Excellent grammar; written and verbal communication.
-Interpersonal skills.
-Ability to multi-task.
-Understand legal terminology.
