Position Summary: The Lead Resident Assistant is a peer leadership and mentorship position within each residential community who leads fellow Resident Assistants and community development for their building/area. Students who apply for the Lead Resident Assistant position must currently be a Resident Assistant.

Essential Functions:
-Work closely with the professional staff to lead Resident Assistant staff meetings and ensure follow through for the Resident Engagement Model (REM).
-Collaborate with Resident Assistant team to execute the Residential Engagement Model (REM). This includes planning, initiating, and coordinating building programs with the Resident Assistant student workers.
-Foster collegiality and a culture of a positive work environment and lead by example in completing Resident Assistant job requirements.
-Provide mentorship to Resident Assistants to help develop problem solving skills.
-Assist in ensuring door decs, bulletin boards, meaningful connections, programs, and events are completed by deadlines.
-Serve as a leader and mentor to all residential student staff and residents, including supporting in areas as needs arise, or major issues are identified.
-Complete all tasks and requirements of the Resident Assistant position.

Required Qualifications:
-Current Washburn University student; Junior standing or above.
-Must currently be in a Resident Assistant position.
-Cumulative GPA of 3.0.

-Understanding of FERPA and Confidentiality.
-Understanding of Washburn University Resources of Support.
-Understanding of Residential Living Policies and the Code of Conduct.

Preferred Qualifications:

Stipend Monthly Exempt
