Position Title: Marketing and Communications Assistant

Position Summary: The position will assist with developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote facilities, programs, services, and special events for the department. They will take program and event photos as needed and assist in keeping production of all printed materials and projects on schedule.

Essential Functions:
• Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud Suite to produce graphic designs for brochures, print and online advertisements, posters, digital displays, flyers, and other publications.
• Update and maintain production schedule.
• Collaborate with others in the marketing program to complete assigned tasks on time.
• Assist in updating website, University calendar content, department social media, facility information screens, and bulletin boards.
• Ensure that all designs are properly aligned with Washburn University and SRWC branding and marketing standards.
• Maintain a consistent message throughout the development and design process.
• Ability to multitask and complete projects in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
Design software experience with the Adobe Cloud Suite including Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
Work or academic course experience in marketing/advertising/graphic design.
Understand branding guidelines and principles.
Understand design principles such as hierarchy, typography, and layout.
Possess excellent writing, organization, and communication skills.
