Position Summary: This position is responsible for supporting all aspects of the employee life cycle for the University, with primary location at the Huntoon campus. Assists with providing day-to-day support and /or oversight of administrative and operational functions for the Human Resources office. This position will also directly supervise the student employment functions and related activities.

Essential Functions:
• This position will assist with providing primary support for Human Resources administration and manage student employment. Will provide secondary support for talent acquisition and retention, compensation and benefits, talent engagement and development, and other related operations.
• Supervises and supports assigned staff to maximize employee performance and facilitate professional growth. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate the performance and effectiveness of assigned staff. Provide appropriate feedback and professional development opportunities encouraging staff to work toward individual and department goals. Work to maintain a healthy, fair, and inclusive work environment by promoting teamwork and collaboration.
• Serves as the University’s background check coordinator for employment-related needs and services. Facilitates background check services for student-related needs or compliance. Will also coordinate or conduct MVR checks or similar, upon request or need. Responsible for managing agreements, bill reconciliation, and other related activities.
• Serves as a resource for employees and supervisors in preventing and/or resolving employee relation issues or potential issues. Identifies additional training needs which may be beneficial in minimizing future issues. Assists supervisors with creating effective performance improvement plans, corrective action or other documentation in an effort to improve performance. Documents discussions and/or events as appropriate.
• Provides policy, regulations, and/or procedures interpretation. Facilitates edits to documents as assigned or appropriate.
• Supports the employee ADA accommodation interactive process as requested.
• Manages the exit interview process, to include delivery, collection, and review.
• Assists with the preparation of board agenda items as assigned or appropriate.
• Supports talent acquisition and retention initiatives.
• Manages the performance review process for staff.
• Supports talent engagement and development initiatives.
• Supports benefits enrollment and orientation initiatives.
• Conducts employee data audits and identifies needed modifications. Processes verification of employment requests as appropriate or assigned.
• Assists with processing annual compensation increases, which may include data collection, calculations, or formal notification generation.
• Assists with ensuring Human Resources compliance is achieved at all campuses.
• Assist with serving as a department representative for committees or initiatives in support of the University’s mission, vision, values, and/or priorities.
• Maintain confidentiality, good judgment, and discretion in all areas of work.
• Performs additional job-related duties as assigned or appropriate.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree and four years of professional Human Resources experience with at least two years in employee relations resolving complex employee relations issues.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
• Demonstrated initiative and attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with all populations.
• Proven success with managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in higher education.
• Previous supervisory experience.
