Position Summary: Washburn University Institute of Technology seeks applications for Early Childhood Education adjunct Technical Instructors to begin August 1, 2024. There are three courses for the fall and three for the spring semester.
Fall: ECE119 Creative Experiences for Young Children, ECE141 Early Language & Literacy Development, ECE212 Children's Play and Games.
Spring: ECE200 Developing Family Relationships, ECE202 Administration in Early Childhood Education, ECE205 Foundation of Education

Essential Functions:
The Early Childhood Education adjunct Technical Instructor position consists of four essential functions: teaching, service, collegiality, and professional development.
1. Develop curriculum according to course competencies on each course syllabus.
2. Develop assignments for on-line learning.
3. Maintain student records for the on-line course; administer tests.
4. Evaluate student work, provide feedback to students, and assign grades. Share (as appropriate) information with the Student Services and Dean's offices; and use the University's Learning Management System to track grades as required.
5. Evaluate each course one teaches and assess personal performance in teaching.
6. Act in a manner that promotes collegial relationships and shows respect toward students, staff, and colleagues.
7. Adhere to college and University policies and perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.
8. Meet satisfactory standards of performance in all areas of responsibility.
9. Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:
• A post-secondary degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or Education with an Early Childhood emphasis; OR
• Master’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Early Childhood or a combination of education, professional tested and equivalent experience that provide a foundation in the specific subject matter being taught.
